Since the emergence of sports dating back to several centuries ago, Africans have shown impeccable talent and resilience even in the toughest fields. Its no wonder then how a select Africans are soaring in the various sports one finds them especially football. Out of curiosity, I decided to dig deeper into their finances considering the PJs (Private Jets) they fly around in, vacays in expensive Islands, wads of cash they flaunt on Instagram and the likes and of course their high maintenance girlfriends and wives. So beautifully, I stumbled onto Forbes’ list of top ten richest footballers in Africa. Here they are-

Christopher is a Congolese defender who plays for Dynamo Moscow. He clinched a deal with Anzhi where he was being paid as much as $160,000 a week.

9.Seydou Keita- net worth $10million.

The 34-year-old Malian midfielder who plays for Valencia is one of the richest footballers in Mali. He is reported to have earned about  $16million before tax in his year with Chinese Super League club Dalian Aerbin FC.

8.Kolo Toure- net worth $11 million.

One of Kolo’s high points in his career was playing alongside his brother Yaya Toure for the first time since they were in the same team in the Ivory Coast. Unfortunately, he failed drugs test in March that got him suspended. The Manchester City defender faces a two-year ban but says he took one of his wife’s diet pills without his knowledge.

7.Frederic Kanoute- net worth $12million.

A Malian footballer, Kanouté began his career with Lyon in France before moving to West Ham of the Premier League in 2000. He won the African footballer of the year in 2007 which made him the first footballer outside of Africa to have won such recognition..He is currently playing for the Beijing Guoan football club of the Chinese Super League.

6. John Mikel Obi- net worth $15million.
