The University of Lagos is one of the country’s oldest tertiary institutions, established in 1962. The University is located in Akoka, Lagos State. Unilag has remained one of the most competitive universities in Nigeria in terms of admission, with over 50,000 students and 5000 academics and non academic staff, 12 Faculties and over 150 courses offered in various departments put together.

Requirements For Arts, Social Sciences and Business Administration Students

A). For Arts Students

At least 5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Literature in English, Government, Economics and Biology either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings and can be combined, that is, WAEC and NECO but must not be more than 2 years apart.

B). For Social Science and Business Administration Students

5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Economics, Accounting and Biology, either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings and please note that WAEC and NECO results can both be combined for admission process but must not be more than 2 years apart.

C) The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the Unilag.

Requirements for Science and Engineering Students, candidates must make the following results;

  1. At least 5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technical drawing (Engineering Students) either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings and can be combined, that is, WAEC and NECO but must not be more than 2 years apart.
  2. The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the University of Lagos.
